Our previous 3 bots were fun to build, but were not much to compete with. Using modified servos as drives is cheap and easy, but they sure don't move very fast.
So I began work on AntiBoty, Starting with the drive, and working my way through. I went to Jack's Hobbies in Ocala, FL to order the Tamiya twin-motor gearbox. It's a neat little thing, but comes unassembled. I also picked a pair of XTM Bullet ESCs from a hobby shop in Dunnellon, FL ( they were going out of business so I got a real steal on these). They are rated as 30 amps. ![]() I called the manufacturer to see how much current they would handle if I say, undressed it, and removed the Heatsink. They told me I should be able to pull 3 amps pretty safely. ![]() I piled all the parts I intended to use on the scale just to make sure. ![]() ![]() Some of the parts were not used, like the 21/23 battery, I undressed the second speed controller, and didn't use the third speed controller (which was for an active weapon) I would still like to add side armor, but can't decide what to use. The lexan is actually bowed to fit so cutting side armor could be quite a challange with my existing tools. |
